Step-by-step plan
Of course, every project is unique and each question requires a tailor-made plan to arrive at the best solution to suit the situation. To get here, I almost always use the same process. The steps I follow in this are as follows:
1. Introduction and assignment orientation
This first stage focuses on building trust and defining the assignment. The aim is to clarify both your expectations and the broader context of the question. We start with an introductory meeting in which we discuss the background, goals and expectations. This provides an initial insight into the issues facing the organisation and the results you want to achieve. The deliverable of this phase is a clearly formulated mission statement in which the joint goals and expectations are set out. This document forms the basis for our continued collaboration.
2. Research phase
During the research phase, we delve into the current situation and the underlying causes of the question or problem. I carry out a thorough analysis, collecting relevant data and interviewing all stakeholders involved. By delving deeper into the structure, people, processes and current bottlenecks, I get a complete picture of the organisation and its challenges. The output of this phase is a detailed analysis report. This presents the main findings and insights, together with an overview of potential solution directions that match your company’s objectives and vision.
3. Action plan and roadmap
Based on the research results, we develop an action plan that outlines the route to the solution. The aim of this phase is to create an executable plan that gives both you and me direction and structure throughout the project. This plan defines concrete steps, required resources, timelines, and responsible parties, as well as KPIs and success criteria. The approved action plan and roadmap not only provide clarity, but also a foothold for all involved to work towards the desired results in a focused way.
4. Implementation and Guidance
With the action plan to guide us, we move on to the implementation phase. This is where executing the previously defined steps begins to actually integrate the solutions into the organisation. During this process, I hold regular check-ins to monitor progress and we make adjustments together when necessary. We work together to ensure that the solutions are practicable and widely accepted within your organisation. In this phase, I provide progress reports and offer continuous support and guidance to ensure a smooth transition to the new way of working.
5. Aftercare and follow-up
In the last phase, we look at the long-term effect of the implementation. We jointly evaluate the results achieved compared to the original goals and I provide follow-up to ensure the lasting impact of the changes. This may include an evaluation interview and a check-up after several months to ensure that the results are maintained and to see if further support is needed.
The final report contains all lessons learned and recommendations for any follow-up steps, and this is how we conclude our collaboration.
